Camera Inside Cnc Machine

Constantly stopping the machine to wipe off the lens was getting annoying so we designed an air knife that allows us to clean off the lens from outside the machine.

Log on to the cnc and check for machine alarms or other. Every time we try to film in a cnc machine we always end up covering the lens in coolant. Mach3 may be used in demo mode when serving as a webcam. One inside each of the three machine enclosures and one mounted on a wall overhead for a view of the shop area.

We got this idea from an excellent series of videos on the edge precision youtube channel. Our wifi camera mounts inside the machine enclosure allowing you to monitor your machining processes remotely from your mobile device via wifi. The cameras inside the machines are attached to small plates bolted to the sheetmetal. All of these will be aided by using the camera viewer function built into mach3 a popular cnc machine control software application offered by newfangled solutions and a free mach3 camera plugin by klaus dietz that adds crosshairs and other reference features to the camera view screen.

The video camera in each vmc is mounted to a sidewall of the machine enclosure. Fully enclosed in a high quality cnc machined housing the camera is completely protected from chips and coolant to ensure reliable long term operation.
